Method of Reproduction in a Unicellular Organism
New organisms are produced by cell division or fission in a cellular organism. The protozoa divide into two equal parts by cell division. Other unicellular organisms, such as the malaria parasite, Plasmodium, divide into multiple progenitor cells at the same time, called multiplication.
If for some reason an organism splits into many pieces, those small fragments create a new organism, which is called regeneration. Example plenaria.
Creatures such as Hydra use cells with the regenerative ability for Mukulan.
